Baby Robert's Story

Testimonials

Last May a young mom with four children came to our Center for a pregnancy test.  She was desperate:  Her husband was out of work, her youngest baby was just six months old, their family was living in a two room apartment with no furnishings, and now, she just knew she was pregnant.

When the test confirmed her fear, she simply broke down and sobbed.  She spent more than four hours talking with a counselor about options; parenting, adoption and abortion.  We talked, we prayed and we cried.  She left our office still feeling confused and overwhelmed, but with little room in her heart for the child growing in her womb.

CPSC volunteers tried to maintain contact with notes of encouragement and phone calls, but she was not responsive.  While we really had no idea what was happening with this family, we committed them to our prayers.

In early January, this mom walked in to our Center with a beautiful baby boy in her arms, and a story of great pain, and courage, related to her pregnancy.

After leaving our office, this woman decided she could not even tell her husband she was pregnant.  He would not want her to abort their baby, and she couldn't bring herself to add to the existing burdens the family was facing.  She went to an abortion clinic in Houston, and was actually on the table waiting for the procedure to begin when she knew she was making a mistake she would regret the rest of her life.  Despite overwhelming confusion, she left the abortion clinic.

The other four children in the family are now delighted to have baby Robert in their home,  One of the greatest hurdles this family is facing is dealing with the fear and lack of trust that prevented this woman from telling her husband about their baby; but they have both agreed to met regularly with a Christian marriage counselor.

Volunteer Today complete form.It took her almost 25 weeks to tell anyone she was pregnant.  She was deeply depressed, overwhelmed by her secret, and extremely guilty about her inability and unwillingness to love the baby she was carrying. She was not even able tell her husband about the baby until several weeks after he got a new job.

Please pray that we will have the chance to lead this family to The One, the only one, who can rebuild their lives and provide for all their needs.
